What to expect at AJC’s first-ever Part Exchange weekend

January 22, 2024

Our first-ever Part Exchange weekend is coming to our popular Grandhome development in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, from 3rd to 4th February. Attendees will have the fantastic opportunity to explore this unique development, and to find out more about the final plots remaining at Grandhome.

In this blog post, Sales Manager Lyndsey Robertson delves into the details of the Part Exchange weekend, explains how the Part Exchange incentive works, and provides insight into what life is like at this desirable location…

What encouraged AJC to host the Part Exchange weekend?

“We strive to make the buying process as seamless as possible for our customers, so they can start enjoying life in their new home as soon as possible. Yet, many of our customers must first sell their current property before achieving a move into their new home - this process can be long, complicated and stressful for our customers.

“Depending on the type of property our customer is trying to sell, and how saturated the market is at the time, this can really delay the process of them moving into a new home. This, combined with Grandhome entering its final phase, funded the ambition for our team to host our first-ever Part Exchange weekend at this sought-after location.”

Can you give us an overview of the event, and what attendees can expect?

“Those attending the Part Exchange weekend will have the perfect opportunity to find out more about the final plots available at this charming development, as our expert team will be on-hand to answer all your questions. During your appointment, you can also enjoy a tour of our fantastic Glenfinnan showhome which promises to give an introduction to the immense craftsmanship and quality that is found in every one of our homes.

“Representatives from Gail Reid Mortgage Services’ team will also be in attendance over the weekend. Specialists in new build mortgages, insurance and everything in between, attendees can meet with Gail’s team for 1:1 sessions and get expert, impartial financial advice. We believe this advice is essential, especially at the beginning of the buying process, so we’re absolutely delighted to have them on board for the Part Exchange weekend.”

Who should consider attending the Part Exchange weekend?

“Although Grandhome is a particularly popular location for growing families, the development is home to a vast range of homeowners including first-time buyers, upsizers and downsizers. We encourage all interested in Grandhome to book an appointment for the Part Exchange weekend, regardless of where they are at in their homeownership journey.”

Could you tell us more about the Part Exchange offer?

“With the Part Exchange incentive, AJC will become the guaranteed buyer of your current property, completely mitigating the stress, guesswork and complications associated with selling a home.

“While considering the current market conditions, our experts will make an offer for your home based on up to two independent valuations of the property. When we buy your home, you’ll essentially be able to move out of your previous property and into your brand new home on the same day.

“Many of our customers have already completed a Part Exchange with AJC, and have reaped the rewards of doing so. The main benefit of utilising the incentive is that it will vastly shorten the process of moving home; some of our customers have managed to move into their new home 6 to 12 months quicker than if they tried to sell their property on the open market.

“We have made the Part Exchange process as seamless and cost-effective as possible as customers can save on estate agency fees and home reports since AJC takes complete care of this.”

Could you give us some insight into what life is like at Grandhome?

“Grandhome is packed with character, and is home to a welcoming community of more than 30 homes. The location emits a village feel, as the quiet streets are lined with charming homes, with black, iron railings fronting onto wide pavements, while many vast, open spaces can be found nearby.

“With its hillside location in Bridge of Don, Grandhome presents an incredibly convenient place to live as all the necessary amenities can be found right on its doorstep. The desirable location means that residents have easy access to the key hubs of Aberdeen, and the range of excellent cafes, restaurants, shops, leisure facilities, and schools that the city has to offer.

“For all these reasons, Grandhome has attracted a range of buyers to the destination, including growing families, retirees and more.”

Could you tell us about the quality of homes at Grandhome?

“We aren’t a volume housebuilder, as we continuously prioritise the specification and quality of our homes over the quantity we build - I believe this is very evident when you visit one of our developments, such as Grandhome.

“This is partially down to the use of traditional building materials and methods, and the local craftsmanship that goes into every one of our homes. We have our own joinery workshop in Aboyne where our experts craft the staircases, gates and more items that go into our luxury homes.

“This dedicated level of quality can be seen in every room in each of our housetypes, as our design team utilises only the highest quality fixtures and fittings - a great example of this is our pristine German kitchens that feature high-end, integrated appliances.

“That traditional approach helps to ensure our homes stand the test of time, for example we still include the installation of sarking boards on our roofs which is a more robust detail. For extra home protection we use reliable high performance harling to the exterior walls of the home. For performance and durability, we install copper pipework instead of plastic pipework and we use aluminium guttering designed for functional life expectancy as opposed to plastic.”

What do existing residents have to say about life at Grandhome, and working with AJC?

“The attention to detail and care we put into our customer service, and the heightened quality of our homes at Grandhome, doesn’t go unnoticed by our customers. As Grandhome advanced through its development stages, we have received an abundance of enlightening feedback from our customers, such as this from Ross and Siobhan who moved into their dream home in 2022:

“Buying our first family home from AJC was such an easy and fun process, we felt at complete ease from start to finish and enjoyed getting to know their staff on a personal level. We absolutely love our home and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend AJC Homes to any potential home buyers!”
